Once a prosperous and lively place, Hallow city is slowly dying out. The economy crash hit the city hard, loads of shops, restaurants and other businesses going bust and shutting down. Causing the greatest rise in unemployment ever seen, their place of work either shutting down, or cutting down on workers. Those that are lucky enough to remain in a job have had severe wage cuts, coupled with the increase cost of living. The few remaining businesses feel no need to compete with what’s not there, raising prices to get as much money as possible, further increasing the problem. So the rich and poor divide is increasing steadily, the filthy rich separating themselves from the 'scum' outside their world.
Now whole families that could once support themselves are going bankrupt, with no government support out there to help them. With no way to pay debts their Belongings and then their houses get taken from them, forcing them out into the street. To join the other hundreds that have suffered from life's cruel twist of the wheel.
As the city slowly dies the government is struggling to think up ways to turn things around, clueless at what to do. But also not too concerned, after all they have more than enough money to get by. It was then the Mair came up with a scheme to try and pull the city back on track, if not for the wrong reasons. The clean up the streets program, mass murder at its best. The thought behind it being that if the streets where cleaned up, the excess people got rid of, the city would begin to prosper again. Build itself back up slowly from the start again, basically wipe the slate clean and start again. So the ruthless chief of police and his cold hearted force where given the job, kill all homeless on sight .
With so many out on the streets it was a bloodbath, the people of Hallow city getting something new to fear, the police. Armed and dangerous the police where sent out daily and nightly, hunting down the homeless like animals and killing and they saw. Woman, child, none of it mattered. The civilians who just managed to get by and the rich where told of the program, but none knew what was really going on. Just thinking that the homeless where getting moved somewhere better for them.
There was one ray of hope however, for those that knew about the refuge. A large abandoned factory on the outskirts of the main city, the home of the Resistance. Led by Thomas Riley the resistance is a group of homeless set out to bring change, to fight the police with all they have. Outside help gives them guns, readying them to fight, not be as weak as they once where. Also trying to get peoples lives on track, focusing on getting its members back into work. To do a better job than the corrupted government is.
Not everybody has suffered becoming homeless however, some survive by clinging on to every penny for deal life. Just getting by on the cheapest food and the bare necessities. They live each day in worry that their small amount of money will run out, that they will be tossed out onto the street like so many others. Then there are the rich, that live in blissfully ignorance of the world around them, getting by as easily as they always had. Life becoming easier if anything, as they get more and more money.
So will you be one of the homeless, begging to survive whilst trying not to die from starvation, or the end of the barrel of a policeman's gun.
Or part of the resistance, fighting to regain some control. To try and bring the corrupt police and government down.
Or the police themselves, hunting and killing anyone that sleeps on the street, showing zero mercy.
Or The rich, the ones that have actually gained from the problems in Hallow city.
Or the everyday Civilians, clutching onto every penny in a hope to not become homeless.
