Biography:Chocolate takes after the famous authors who shared her last name. Indeed, she is never without her books and her writing. Every day of every day of the week she writes at least one new poem and she constantly is finding faults and flaws—thus, making her want to write even better, and perfect her writing. Poetry is one of her greatest passions as is storytelling and though she may be a big romantic, she loves to include humours as well as inspirational stories alongside her regular love stories.
Chocolate has also always loved taking photographs of things, sketching, and making short films, this includes writing witty scripts for them. She’s never without her digital camera. She adores using Photoshop and any sort of graphic designers to create her own collages and manipulations with her pictures/sketches. Combining them is one of her extra special favourites. They are literally her passion, and all she has left of her old life. Often she will refer to herself as “looking at life through the lens”.
However, her art is also expressed through her sketches and paintings. If a camera is not in hand then at least a pad of paper and some charcoal will be. Everything she sees, she tries to record on paper in order for her to truly understand everything. She never likes to be without such objects and usually feels incomplete when she is.
Chocolate is also very big on Shakespeare, though not only in her writing. She loves to act and be dramatic—well, on the stage at least. Constantly, she is watching plays and going to Broadway—in fact, Drama is the only outlet in which she lets go of her shy shell that usually stays upon her. Besides that, she actually has talent for it and can be anyone whom she chooses once she crosses that curtain.
Thinking up crazy ideas that no one has thought of before or hearing different theories from other people is another of her crazes. Usually, if it’s something she doesn’t agree with she’ll have a huge debate with the person, but then again, with her open mindedness, it’s highly unlikely something that far-fetched will come along.
One cannot call her an idiot though. Chocolate adores reading and will eat up an entire library in a day. She is a true bookworm and spends hours locked up in her room or something like that, simply reading. It is one of her favourite pastimes, if not the one she takes most part in. She loves reading anything besides magazines—and even then if there isn’t anything else in the room besides those, she’ll pick ‘em up and finish off a few articles she finds interesting.
Still, all these things that make Chocolate unique also turn a lot of people off. They find some of her theories really weird, and don’t see why anyone would be taking pictures of random things such as a fire alarm. Then comes her negative and sarcastic side. When this shines through, you can bet that Chocolate would be extremely on high end and ready to snap at any moment at anyone. Her cynical and pessimistic comments always make people wonder if she has a multiple personality disorder, even though she definitely doesn’t.
More of her weaknesses include her innocence, guys, and the way she just believes anything people tell her. She never really got a chance to live in the ‘real’ world until now. She doesn’t know all this crap that’s going on with how guys can be real jerks and only want girls for one thing. She’s never even dated before. People easily fool her, and it’s already gotten her in trouble way too many times
She was born against the beautiful backdrop of France…literally. Her case was rare as her parents were on their second honeymoon and after being married for so many years were not expecting a child. When they found out Arlette was going to have Chocolate, they decided to head off to France, a place they always had wanted to go but never had the chance. They knew that once their kid was born, they definitely would not have the chance to go. And so, on those first days of school Chocolate can always say that an interesting fact about herself is that she was born in France, even though both her parents are American and she herself only lived in the country until she was about a month old, maybe even less. Coincidentally she was also born on Valentine’s Day—the most romantic day in the entire calendar.
Besides this, she had a rather normal childhood. Well, as normal as one can have with a name such as ‘Chocolate’. Many might ask why her parents gave her such a unique name. Well, that is actually an extremely funny story. Her mom had decided to give up her craving of chocolate so that her daughter wouldn’t supposedly be fat when she was born. Well, as soon as Chocolate was born, the nurse asked her mother what she wanted to name the child, but Arlette screamed that she wanted Chocolate. The nurse had misunderstood and written that under the child’s birth certificate, and thus she was named, by accident. Practically everything about her is an accident: her birth, her name…etcetera, etcetera, the list goes on.
She went throughout her entire middle school and so on in Britain, but she was never exactly noticed. She was one of those quiet types that people would see and think they had seen before, but never really made the connection that she had sat next to them the entire year and even been in a group project with. She sorta bypassed all of that along with the whole friends and dating thing. No one ever noticed her due to her quietness. Still, she didn’t mind and she made friends instead with people like her Boss, or the Librarian who would always keep her updated on the new books the library was going to be receiving. Meanwhile, her own peers never held interest in her and in turn, she didn’t hold it within them either.
High School might’ve been the same if her parents had sent her to a regular one rather than the elite crème de la crème academy in New York. Chocolate’s dad is a lawyer and her mother is simply a wedding-planner, she is definitely not belonging to that class which is so upper-class, everyone gets a Ferrari or Lamborghini as soon as they turn sixteen. And so, walking through those very halls she was extremely nervous. Her first two years, she once again slipped by everyone’s nosy remarks, rumours, and wary glances—but this year may be a little different.
